Improvement Roadmap > Surveying, Assessment and Performance Benchmarking

MSME Performance Benchmarking will be managed in three on-going phases:

• Data Collection
• Benchmarking
• Reporting and Sourcing

Data Collection - A series of data collection processes from MSMEs, Corporations, and Industry Sourcing Advisory Panels (ISAP) drives the collection of essential data for performance benchmarking against identified Industry Groups (IG) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Continuous KPI development, modification, and improvement is driven by ISAPs throughout the program. The first step in data collection is the conduct of a MSME National Survey of MSME composition. This process continues through MSME assessments (On-line and In-plant) which support the collection of performance data.

Benchmarking - Collected data from MSME In-Plant Assessments is used in the development of performance benchmarking medians, standards, and norms. With input and support from ISAPs representing different IG, these measures will be unique for the different types of manufacturing as follows:

Production Type:

• Discrete fabrication/forming
• Discrete assembly
• Fabrication & assembly
• Continuous process
• Mill / roll processing
• Batch process
• Packaging
• Packaging plus batch or process
• Other mixed mode

Order to Build Mode:

• Build-to-stock / Build-to-forecast
• Build / Assemble-to-order
• Configure-to-order
• Engineer-to-order

Reporting and Sourcing – KPI Performance Benchmarking Reports and Supply Chain IT Alignment are provided to both MSMEs and to Corporations. Performance Assessment Data Visualization for individual MSMEs will be viewable on the MSME Performance Dashboard for MSME identification, qualification, and selection.
